~Our Vision~
The vision and whole purpose for Gulf Shores Community Church existence is to allow God to continually develop us towards the goal of becoming like His son Jesus and to train and prepare to do the things that He called us to do on this earth. To this end we believe that He gave us a blueprint of how to accomplish this goal. Therefore we have a two pronged agenda; first a Spiritual and second a Practical, which merge together into our one purpose. SPIRITUAL The spiritual aspect is to establish our identity in Him both personal and corporate so that we are conformed into His image and to prepare to do the works that he did while on earth. This goal, although not often expressed in church is, we believe, the all encompassing intent of God for all of His people. This is not an impossible goal or He would not have asked us to try. We may not reach the goal 100% but we can work towards it until He returns. Jesus said himself in John 14:12 “You shall do the works that I do and even greater because I go to the Father.” (Paraphrased) He also promised to send the Holy Spirit. We continually rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us and help us in this quest. Knowing this to be a lifetime venture we earnestly desire to embark on it and to “Be about our Fathers business.” PRACTICALThe practical aspect involves many different activities including training people in their calling, releasing and sending them to minister both locally and into the world. This is the primary purpose of GSC Church, this is why we are here and to that end we are establishing classes to train people in various areas. We will begin with a prophetic class that is primarily centered on “How to hear the voice of the Lord” and dream interpretation. We also will have classes on evangelism and prophetic evangelism, deliverance etc. Any and all of these classes may be taken by both our church members as well as any Christians in the community who desire to attend, however we feel that members of other churches should inform their pastors if they intend to take these classes-we are not here to steal sheep but do want to help any and all who are interested. Another area of the practical aspect is to prepare to help people in our community in times of need, whether in times of disaster or not, we feel we should be prepared to physically help. Our building is to be not only a sanctuary, a place of praise and worship, church services, intercession, training and discipleship classes but also a shelter and a storehouse for food and water and necessities of life for those in need both now and in times of greater need. We desire that it will also be a place of fellowship of the saints and a place of communion with God. This is not only our vision but we believe a mandate from God. My help comes from The Lord, who made heaven and earth ~ NOTE; Some of these objectives are yet to be implemented as we are just starting up but with The Lords help we are beginning to advance towards our goals and expect to attain them in the very near future. We will be starting the "Living Your Strengths" class March 27 2008. See our home page for details . |
